Press Secretary of the President of Russia Dmitry Peskov commented on the death of a journalist in the Artemovsk region (Ukrainian name – Bakhmut) of the French agency AFP Arman Solden. According to the agency, the journalist died as a result of gunfire in the town of Chasov Yar.
Peskov noted that he had “no knowledge” and advised journalists who asked questions to contact the Russian Ministry of Defense.
“I propose not to take the word of the Ukrainian representatives. Because I want to remind you of a very recent statement of Ukrainian representatives and the decision to ban journalists from the areas adjacent to the contact zone. “These were the decisions of the Ukrainian authorities,” the Kremlin spokesman said.
He noted that the circumstances of Arman Solden’s death must be understood.
“We can only express our regrets about this,” Peskov said.
