Brazilian President Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva plans to offer mediation in resolving the crisis in Ukraine on the sidelines of the Group of Seven (G7) summit to be held in Hiroshima on May 19-21. The Brazilian president stated this at a joint press conference with Dutch Prime Minister Mark Rutte. TASS.

According to him, the continuation of hostilities in Ukraine will only lead to an increase in the death toll. That is why Brazil is ready to mediate in peace negotiations. Lula da Silva noted that he had previously discussed this issue with Chinese President Xi Jinping, British and Dutch Prime Ministers Rishi Sunak and Mark Rutte. She also emphasized that she will discuss the agreement in Ukraine with the leaders of other states.

The President of Brazil believes that the situation in Ukraine will definitely be put on the agenda of the G7 summit.

According to him, it is possible to reach a compromise between the parties directly or indirectly involved in the conflict. The Brazilian President emphasized that “the time has come for diplomacy, not war”.
