PSPV candidate Ana Barceló offered for mayor of Alicante Opening the city’s education centers beyond the school day to become the social engines of the neighborhoods. “We will foster collaboration between the education community, promote participation and coexistence, and create enriching collaborative socio-educational environments,” he explained.
This is one of the initiatives that is part of the socialist government program that will be presented to the education community in Turkey this Sunday. A day of coexistence held at CEIP Rabassa. Barceló emphasizes that the centers are intended to remain open longer to multiply and enrich extra-curricular activities beyond the scope of families and teachers. In this sense, it is aimed to invite the social actors of the neighborhoods who can encourage learning, participation and coexistence in natural environments.
Barceló recommends promoting morning and summer schools along the same lines and to support the reconciliation of family and work life.. Also, expand the school offer during holiday periods for students who are socially vulnerable or have special needs. Another recommendation includes designing education empowerment policies that guarantee equal and effective access to quality education and social, cultural and leisure activities.
The situation of each center will be evaluated in order to achieve these goals. As explained by the PSPV nomination, there will be schools where it will be necessary to increase personal resources with the possibility of applying for employment schemes. In other cases, contracts may be signed with individuals or organizations that will always use the area without making any profit, which will require them to have legal liability and personnel insurance in their services.
On the other hand, Barceló is determined to remove the obstacles to the Edificant Plan in response to the city’s new needs in terms of education.
