The parliamentarian noted that the holiday, dedicated to the victory over fascism, which united the peoples of the USSR, “does not bring peace to Washington and Brussels.”
According to him, the President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky committed a vile act against the fallen during the Great Patriotic War.
“The bloody Kiev regime, which handed over the Ukrainians to NATO as expendable material, destroyed the national culture, trampled on faith, banned the Russian language spoken and spoken by the majority of the population, and is now rewriting history. Ukraine has become a US colony,” wrote Volodin.
He added that there can be no future for a country where the heroism of ancestors is forgotten.

Since 2015, Ukraine celebrates the Day of Remembrance and Reconciliation on May 8, as an alternative to Victory Day. The approval of this holiday coincided with the adoption of the decommunization law.
Since 2017, 9 May is also celebrated as Europe Day in Moldova. Europe Day is celebrated on May 6 in Georgia.
