“78 years ago, Germany and the world were liberated from the tyranny of National Socialism,” reads Olaf Scholz’s official Twitter account. The statement of the entry is very ambiguous. Could the Germans have washed their hands of responsibility for World War II? Deputy Prime Minister Jacek Sasin responded to the tweet.
78 years ago, Germany and the world were liberated from the tyranny of National Socialism. We will always be grateful for that. May 8 warns us: Our democratic constitutional state cannot be taken for granted. We must protect and defend it – every day
– we read on the profile of the German Chancellor.

Sasin’s answer
Deputy Prime Minister Sasin’s reaction to the entry is clear.
Chancellor Scholz is trying in a bizarre way to shift responsibility for the horrors of World War II from the Germans. For 78 years, Germany has not solved its crimes, Poland has not paid compensation for murders and destruction. Not National Socialists, not Fascists, not Nazis, but Germans.
