Ukraine accuses Russia of blocking grain in Black Sea

The Ministry of Reconstruction of Ukraine said that Russia blocked the registration and inspection of ships carrying Ukrainian agricultural products under the Grain Agreement. The statement was published on the agency’s website.

“The Russian Federation once again effectively stopped the “grain deal” and refused to register ships for entry and conduct inspections. “This approach is completely against the terms of the current agreement,” he said.

According to the Ukrainian agency, there are currently 90 ships awaiting inspection in Turkish territorial waters, of which 62 are being loaded.

The grain deal expires on May 18.

Formerly Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Russian Federation announced is holding a high-level meeting on the grain agreement in the near future. The ministry stressed that Russia is making efforts to ensure food security. It was also noted that many countries of the world would benefit from this if Moscow lifted the restrictions on agricultural exports and fertilizer exports.
