In the PO state, it is like in the series “Awantura” – there are people who are successful, climb the ladder of social development, but the principle of solidarity does not apply to them. I recommend to PO politicians the “Awantura” series, which illustrates the legacy of their neoliberal governments, Prime Minister Mateusz Morawiecki said in a Sunday podcast.
The Prime Minister recommends Netflix’s “Awantura”.
In his latest podcast, Prime Minister Matusz Morawiecki shared with his listeners his thoughts on the new Netflix series entitled “Awantura”, which he has watched – as he said – “for a few episodes”.
“Awantura” is a symbol of changes in American society, in which successive generations of immigrants from different regions of Asia, Korea, Japan and China grow up
noted the prime minister.
Directly referring to the plot of the series “Awantura”, the Prime Minister stated: “For many years we have been told that there is a class struggle in the world, in which the subordinate must take up arms and pursue the vile capitalists. Meanwhile, the subordinates in this new story not only the strength and hope for change.
It’s the other way around. It is the elite, or part of the elite, who bullies them even more, shows them their place in the queue every day, humiliates and ridicules them
Morawiecki described. He cited a scene from the series where “an awfully rich character paints ‘I am poor’ on her boyfriend’s car.”
Not only is life giving him a hard time, but someone is treating him like a worse kind of person beforehand. As if the state of possessions decided his dignity
– reported the prime minister in his podcast.
“Mr. Borys Budka compromised himself twice”
According to the prime minister, “unfortunately there is something in this story that we know from Poland.” Morawiecki referred to the Twitter post of former Civic Platform head Borys Budka; as the prime minister said, “the picture shows a group of officials cutting the ribbon for the so-called toi toi-em – a plastic toilet.
For this Mr. Chairman of the Civic Platform, it is of course a reason to laugh (…). Of course, the photo itself is a photo montage. Not a single PiS politician has opened a plastic toilet
– explained the Prime Minister, adding that “Mr. Borys Budka, since we are talking about him here, has compromised himself twice.”
He not only posted fake news, but again showed the true mentality of some of the elites of Civic Platform, and this mentality is ignoring and cackling about simple things, against ordinary, everyday problems.
Morawiecki said.
The prime minister admitted that according to the national census, many Polish families do not have access to many basic services.
It’s hundreds of thousands of people, so Mr. Borys Budka has thousands of reasons to joke. And the truth is that this is the result of years of negligence in investments in local Poland, the result of the lack of recovery of public finances
Morawiecki emphasized.
According to him, Civic Platform has from the very beginning “ignored people whose lives are not a bed of roses”.
Take down Grandma’s evidence, don’t let her vote for Law and Justice. Do you remember this password? The implication was that Grandma was too stupid for democracy and would not choose the right path. And the truth is quite different again: let our proverbial grandmother choose as it is in her best interest. She already knows what has happened in recent years
Morawiecki said.
“That is why I recommend to all PO politicians…”
According to Morawiecki, the liberal PO state is a bit like in the TV series “Awantura”.
There are people who are successful, climb the ladder of social development, but the principle of solidarity does not apply to them. Whoever goes higher pulls up the ladder behind him, instead of lending a hand and helping those who are below
noted the prime minister.
Therefore, I advise all PO politicians to watch the series “Awantura”. They can see themselves in it as in a mirror. Maybe they’ll understand something, maybe they’ll finally find a way out of this trap they’ve put Poland in, because I’m deeply convinced that the social division we have, our Polish brawl, is exactly the legacy of the neoliberal rule of PO
– assessed the Prime Minister.
At the same time, he expressed the hope that this dichotomy will be bridged as soon as possible.
More justice, more equality, more solidarity is what I wish for all of us
Morawiecki said.
