Russian Deputy Foreign Minister Sergei Vershinin said that the Russian side is still not satisfied with the current progress in the export of Russian agricultural products. The statement was made by the diplomat following a meeting with the president of the United Nations Conference on Trade and Development (UNCTAD). TASS.
The diplomat noted that it is very important for the Russian side to fulfill its conditions.
The agreement on the grain deal, or the so-called Black Sea initiative, expires on May 18.
On May 6, Farhan Haq, Deputy Spokesperson for the UN Secretary-General, said that a new round of negotiations to extend the agreement was stalled.
Previously, the meeting of the representatives of Russia, Turkey, Ukraine and the UN to be held in Istanbul on 5 May, moved. According to Ankara representatives, this was due to the necessity of holding a meeting with members of the technical delegations of the UN, Turkey, Russia and Ukraine. Later, it was reported that in these meetings, the subject of the upcoming negotiations was mentioned and some “technical issues” were discussed.
