We will collect signatures for this citizens’ initiative in all parliamentary and senatorial offices to show the power of parents. Hands off Polish children of left-wing ideologues – said the head of the Ministry of Culture and National Heritage, Przemysław Czarnek, on Friday, referring to the draft law on the “Let’s protect children” initiative.
It concerns a draft amendment to the Education Act, concerning changes in the scope of activities of associations and other organizations with the statutory aim of educational activity or broadening and enriching the forms of education, upbringing, care and innovative activities of a school or setting. The draft provides for the exclusion of associations and organizations that “want to promote issues related to the sexualization of children” in kindergartens and primary schools.
Now is the time when it is necessary to call a halt to this neoliberal procession, which has passed through cultural institutions and universities, but has not yet entered the schools. In the West, they wake up and start banning it. They start banning the promotion of, say, homosexuality, LGBT promotion, they start absolutely blocking the sexualization of children, like in Florida
– said the Minister of Education and Science on TVP Info.
As he added, “Poland is in a situation that if we put a dam today, we will protect our children from foundations promoted by Trzaskowski, Jaśkowiak, Dulkiewicz or other PO presidents.”
He recalled that the citizens’ initiative “Let’s protect children” is supported by the Marshal of the Sejm, Elżbieta Witek, and the president of PiS, Jarosław Kaczyński.

said Black.
On Thursday, the leader of the party, Jarosław Kaczyński, together with the chairman of the Sejm, Elżbieta Witek, made statements at the PiS headquarters about the initiative “Let’s protect children”, under the aegis of the chairman. It is a civil law, which – according to the authors – prevents, among other things, the sexualization of children.
The point is that children – in this case clearly children – are not subjected to practices that are certainly harmful to them and that can lead to profound psychological changes, to difficulties of various kinds, by the time they are already older, and even in adulthood. age
– said the head of PiS. He noted that this is a “bottom-up initiative, not from politicians, but from parents”.
Under the auspices of the Marshal of the Sejm, several meetings were held under the slogan “Let’s protect children, let’s support parents”. During one, which took place on March 24, Elżbieta Witek met people involved in the education and upbringing of young people. This meeting was attended by the participation of the Minister of Education and Science Przemysław Czarnek, the Minister of the Family and Social Policy Marlena Maląg and the Deputy Minister of Health Waldemar Kraska. The next one took place on April 14 with the participation of Prime Minister Mateusz Morawiecki.
The content of the draft amendment to the Education Act
According to the authors of the project, which was received by PAP on Thursday, elements of sexual education of children and adolescents should be taught by qualified teachers, without the participation of outside entities. The justification for the project states that “the exclusion of the possibility of carrying out such activities in school, especially classes with students, should be of a general nature and not limited to this or that side of the public discourse”.
In addition, according to the draft, the parent council should regulate transparently how the parents of pupils are informed about the activities performed. The justification explains that project promoters do not impose “in advance” the method of regulating established communication practices.
The draft also proposes a system of “internal” oversight, where the principal gives binding permission for a community organization to operate on the grounds of a school or other facility. In accordance with the draft, an association or other organization intending to undertake activities in a school or institution shall provide to its director – in electronic and paper form – in particular: a description of the ongoing activity; implement goals and content in the school or institution; a description of the materials used to achieve these objectives.
The draft states that the director of a school or institution, immediately upon receipt of a report from an association or organization, seeks advice from the school or institution council and the parents’ council, including the competent pedagogical supervisory body and the authority responsible for the school. or setting leads on the notification. After obtaining the advice, the school director informs the parents about the advice. Lack of positive opinions means that the association or organizations cannot do business. Participation in such classes requires the written consent of the student’s parents, and in the case of an adult student – this student.
In addition, the draft stipulates that the advice of the school council and the parent council will not be required when organizing and giving lessons: in the context of assignments in the field of government administration; as part of the tasks of the National Center for Addiction Prevention; by a scouting organization under the honorary protectorate of the President of the Republic of Poland and operating in the territory of the Republic of Poland or by the Polish Red Cross operating in the territory of the Republic of Poland under the supervision of the Prime Minister.
The law must enter into force on September 1, 2023.
