Mongolia is an important partner with great potential; we want to work together in the future – President Andrzej Duda said after a meeting with the Mongolian president on Tuesday in Ulaanbaatar. Earlier, the presidents signed a number of agreements on economic cooperation, including in the fields of natural resources and science.
President Duda has been visiting Mongolia since Monday; on Tuesday morning he met with President Uchnaagiin Churelsuch.
During the briefing, President Duda expressed the hope that his visit would lead to a revival of Polish-Mongolian relations. He believed that the agreements signed in his presence would bring measurable benefits to both countries. He stressed that Mongolia is a very important partner with great potential and rich in natural resources.
We want to cooperate with Mongolia in the future
he declared.
President Duda reported that his conversation with the President of Mongolia also covered political cooperation and the difficult international situation, which was complicated by the Covid-19 pandemic and Russian aggression against Ukraine.
We talked about the political relations in which we find ourselves. It is known that Mongolia has its geopolitical situation, Poland has its geopolitical situation, in certain circumstances
said the chairman. He also thanked the Mongolian president – as a representative of a neighboring country of Ukraine that is taking in refugees – for the humanitarian aid to Ukraine.
Prior to the briefing, the following agreements were signed in the presence of the chairmen: on international road transport, implementation agreement between the Polish Geological Institute – National Research Institute and the Mongolian Geological Service for the implementation of a project on prospecting for critical raw materials in Mongolia; Memorandum of Understanding between the State Archives of the Republic of Poland and the Central Archives Office of Mongolia; Memorandum of Understanding between the Chief Veterinary Inspectorate of the Republic of Poland and the General Directorate of Veterinary Services, the executive agency of the Government of Mongolia in the field of veterinary services; about the cooperation between the University of Warsaw and the Mongolian Academy of Sciences.
