We will protect Poland’s forests so that they remain in the hands of those who manage them best, said Climate and Environment Minister Anna Moscow, who is taking part in the conference “Polish forests – the treasure of generations” held in Jedlnia on Monday. – Letnisko at Radom.
Min. Moscow: I appealed to the European Commission for proper conduct
The minister told reporters she met with EU Environment Commissioner Virginijus Sinkevičius last week.
I appealed to the committee’s attitude, should there be a debate on the takeover of state forests from national management into European hands, for the correct action by the European Commission; the commissioner was not aware of this initiative in parliament
Moscow reported.
The head of the Ministry of Climate and Environment will participate in the conference “Polish forests – the treasure of generations”, which will take place on Wednesday at the Forest Education Center in Jedlnia-Letnisko.
We will defend the Polish forests, and today we will also talk about it, discuss the further strategy of defending the Polish forests. We will protect Poland’s forests so that they remain in the hands of those who manage them best
said the minister. She also summarized Friday’s tree-planting campaign in Kapturski forest in Radom, in which she also participated.
5,000 were planted. oaks with the involvement of a large group of young people from Radom and Podradom schools. We are very proud of it
Moscow stressed.
She added that on Friday in Radom, there was a practical demonstration of how to take care of the environment and protect nature.
We are glad that young people can actively participate in such events, actively contribute to environmental protection, because they are subject to the influence of environments that say hold on to the ministry building or shout to techno music under the ministry building – this is nature conservation
noted Moscow.
Kuźmiuk: Forestry policy is the policy of a Member State
Zbigniew Kuźmiuk, Member of the European Parliament, who was present at the press conference, stressed that forestry policy is the policy of each member state and it is clearly stated in the treaties.
Unfortunately, the conference on the future of Europe, which was held for a year in the EU institutions, in the European Parliament (…), which was supposed to be a demonstration of direct democracy, so people came to parliament and told how they envision the future of the EU showed that the advantage in these extremely extreme circles that demanded that forest management be the competence of the European Union
Kuzmiuk said.
The star of Radom, Waldemar Tralka, informed that near Radom, where the conference was held, there are 40 thousand. ha of forest – that’s about 27 percent. the whole area of the province. He noted that his local government took a stand in defense of Polish forests.
I encourage other local governments to take similar positions. Such strengthening of this voice from below, from local governments, for our government, prime minister, minister, MEPs, deputies and senators is very important
noted the mayor of Radom.
In January this year, the European Parliament’s Committee on the Environment, Public Health and Food Safety delivered a positive opinion on the amendment to the treaties, which would transfer forestry from national competence to the so-called competences shared between the EU and the Member States. The unanimous consent of all EU countries is required to amend the Treaties.
️ We actively contribute to the protection of the environment, said Minister of Climate and Environment Anna Moscow
