The President of the Republic of Poland Andrzej Duda, together with his wife Agata Kornhauser-Duda, paid an official visit to Mongolia. In Ulaanbaatar, the Polish leader will speak about the development of economic cooperation and the security situation in the world.
On Tuesday, President Duda’s interlocutors in Ulaanbaatar will be Mongolian President Uchnaagiin Khurelsuch, Prime Minister Luwsannamsrain Ojun-Erdene and Speaker of Parliament Gombojaw Zandanshatar.
The purpose of the visit is to maintain economic cooperation. Opening up new markets for Polish entrepreneurs is very important to Mr. President
– said the head of the International Policy Office of the Chancellery of the President of the Republic of Poland, Marcin Przydacz.
He added that economic intergovernmental agreements will be signed during the visit and a Polish-Mongolian business forum will be held.
The presidential minister pointed out that Mongolia is a good investment location for the Polish mining and engineering industry, both in the agricultural and mining sectors. He also pointed to the possibilities of cooperation within the food sector and in the field of afforestation.
Different perspectives
The head of BPM announced that during the visit the topic of security will also be discussed, in the context of the Russian aggression against Ukraine, which has led to a deterioration of the security situation in the world.
We are aware that Mongolia, as a country between Russia and China, has its own view of the politics of these two countries
said Przydacz.
He noted that the president “respects the terms of each of his partners in political talks, but the rules of international law should apply to everyone, especially Russia, as a permanent member of the UN Security Council.”
Certainly, President Andrzej Duda will put forward all arguments to support Ukraine, which is fighting to defend itself, while putting as much pressure as possible on the Russian side to stop its senseless aggression.
emphasized Przydacz.
Duda will also present the Polish position on these issues at a lecture at the university in Ulaanbaatar.
The president will deal with the issue of world order based on the principle of legalism, i.e. action based on international law, and the principle of multilateralism, i.e. the harmonious cooperation of many states in the international system
– added the head of BPM.
The official opening of the Polish embassy in Ulaanbaatar by President Duda is also planned.
Przydacz also drew attention to the historical context of the visit and recalled that Polish oppositionists helped Mongolia organize free elections in the early 1990s.
The chairman will refer to the good cooperation of those years
added the minister.
