The Minister of Justice of the Russian Federation Konstantin Chuichenko described the decision to recognize the World Wildlife Fund (WWF) as a foreign agent on the territory of Russia as legal and justified. He said this in an interview TASS.
According to the head of the department, the Ministry of Justice will present all allegations against the organization in court.
At the same time, Chuichenko added that all the letters signed in defense of the WWF are the result of the organization’s active work in the field of public relations. According to the minister, in recent years the fund has been mainly engaged in self-promotion.
“The concrete work of the Russian WWF in recent years, where are the objects? Almost none! The fund also loves to talk about how bad things are in nature conservation in Russia.”
He also accused the WWF of using his status for supposedly charitable fundraising events. Chuichenko emphasized that the Russian Federation will not leave this unattended and will take measures in accordance with the law.
