The Azerbaijani side closed the Hakari bridge in the Lachin corridor on the border of Armenia and Artsakh. This was reported by the Artsakh information center, reports Armenia today.
The report states that Artsakh authorities strongly condemned another Azerbaijani provocation, seeing it as a criminal step that deepens the blockade of Artsakh and aims at ethnic cleansing.
It is emphasized that Baku’s actions are against the tripartite declaration of 9 November 2020 and the decision of the International Court of Justice. Regarding the incident, Artsakh President Arayik Harutyunyan called an emergency meeting of the republic’s Security Council.
In early April, Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan and Russian President Vladimir Putin discussed The situation in the Lachin corridor during a phone call. The Armenian government said that the leaders of the two countries discussed the ongoing humanitarian crisis in the region due to “Azerbaijan’s illegal blockade of the Lachin corridor.
It was noted that Pashinyan emphasized the importance of taking consistent steps by the Russian peacekeepers.
