The Prime Minister of Saxony, Michael Kretschmer, said that the German authorities had made little diplomatic effort to resolve the situation in Ukraine. He said this in an interview he gave to the newspaper. Bild am Sonntag.

According to Kretschmer, German Foreign Minister Annalena Burbock believes that the time has now come not for negotiations but for the supply of arms.

“This is what worries a lot of people, myself included. Diplomacy is always a tool to resolve conflicts. “I find it wrong that Germany no longer adheres to this position,” said the Chancellor of Saxony.

Asked when, in his view, the conflict in Ukraine will end, the politician said it depends on “Germany and European efforts to find diplomatic solutions”.

Former German Defense Minister Boris Pistorius judicial “Absolutely normal” if the Ukrainian army conducts military operations on the territory of Russia. According to the minister, this may be permissible to cut off the supply routes of Russian troops, but civilians should not be harmed as a result of such actions. Pistorius also stressed that there are “red lines” in the arms supply and that if Ukraine requests prohibited ammunition, it should be refused.
