The first and last pages in Michnik’s magazine and in other opposition publications are horribly different. In the headlines, the next latest “failures of PiS”, the already certain “ends of PiS” and reportedly “decisive polls”. But deep down there is a feeling that something has gone wrong. writes Jack Zakowskithe “research breakthrough” could not be achieved.
A joint list turned out to be (temporarily?) impossible. A common minimum program turned out to be (temporarily?) unrealistic. Even the joint march on Sunday 4 June turned out to be (temporarily?) too much of a challenge for the opposition parties.
The editor is also concerned that “what is the worst of all”,
the number of votes the opposition can count on does not (temporarily?) indicate a level that would mean that a democratic government with a secure majority in the Sejm will be formed after the elections.
What happened? I believe, as I recently wrote, that the opposition has wasted, exaggerated, and today overtaken by laziness like a student just before an exam. In such a situation one can count on a miracle, but that is not the case, because most of them are European atheists.
So we have to look for rational explanations. Grzegorz Sroczynski in a spectacular and well-known essay he put forward the thesis that it was all due to unbearable predictability, secondaryness and lack of seriousness. I can agree with that last one. Interesting are the comments of an intellectual tired of politics, we were pinched there, funny even. On the other hand, similar texts appear in the Polish press every few months. Because every twelve months someone feels the need to throw away their disappointment at the futility of the political game. Okay, free country.
But taking into account the criterion of political freedom of choice, Sroczyński is fundamentally wrong. The opposition is not too predictable and too boring. On the contrary – it is too volatile, unstable, incoherent and too interesting, sparkling with dozens of conflicting ideas, views, recipes, full of new stars appearing every week. In the eyes of voters, this seems like a madman’s dream, not a serious program proposal for hard times of war.

It’s not that the opposition doesn’t want to win either. He wants, he wants a lot, but in short. It will not, has not and will not be able to do this basic preparatory work, without which elections are rarely won in a mature democratic state.
Political shamanism took possession of her.
What remains today is cheap psychologizing, which the authors of the Michnik empire are reaching for with increasing eagerness. Agnieszka Kublik wonders why
the PiS voters have no pity for others. The biggest scams, violations of the law, incompetence leading to serious harm to the whole society are tolerated and forgiven, while “others” are blamed for crimes not committed, tried to be charged with high treason.
Let’s disregard the gibberish of this false description and the fact that most of the alleged “PiS scandals” are capital letters, which Czerska’s editors serialize. People feel it and that’s why these “affairs” don’t work. Let’s also skip the role of madness that defines the opposition, such as the attacks on Saint John Paul II or the alliance with Mrs. Lempart. And the praise about prostitution that the people of Michnik themselves post every few weeks? Is someone forcing you to?
It is more interesting to read the reasons for the strong position of Prime Minister Kaczyński’s camp proposed by Kublik. Well, it refers to the concept “collective narcissism”.
Narcissistic personalities who draw complacency from the memory of their group’s martyrdom are not at all sure of their worth. That’s why they hate criticism so much, they hate and humiliate their opponents. (…) And above all, they want to earn the approval of the leader.”
This is what Ms. Kublik understood about the change in social and economic policies and approach to the state after 2015. Hundreds of billions are not taken away from the mafia and transferred to families, nor is there a jump in investment in Poland, far from the agglomeration , there is no real wage increase, record low unemployment, reconstruction of the military, rejection of the pedagogy of shame, effective response to successive crises, etc. Instead, there is “collective narcissism” and high school philosophizing about hidden feelings of guilt and inferiority.
Such journalism may serve the emotional needs of a cult, but it is impossible to construct a serious political proposal. Did they get frustrated and messy that quickly or are they burning something?
Don’t know. But it doesn’t look good. In the same issue of Michnik’s newspaper, the same Mrs. Kublik gives another sensation:
Kaczynski in your shower. Wherever you are, whatever you do and with whomever, they see and hear it.
To say the least, the syndromes are really disturbing.
