Cuban Foreign Ministry: Relations between Russia and Cuba will strengthen under the new government

Gisela Garcia Rivera, representative of the Cuban Ministry of Foreign Affairs, believes that relations between the republic and Russia will continue to strengthen after Cua Miguel Diaz-Canel is re-elected as president. She stated this in an interview, she said. DEA News.

According to the diplomat, new strategic and priority agreements continue to be signed between the two states.

“The re-election of President Diaz-Canel will further strengthen ties with the Russian Federation. Our President recently visited Moscow. A number of agreements were reached there. A lot of work is being done now to implement them,” Garcia Rivera said.

The representative of the Cuban Ministry of Foreign Affairs emphasized that, according to him, the relations between the two countries have historical significance and a strong continuity since the 1959 Cuban revolution, therefore the friendship between Cuba and Russia will continue “under any government” and stability will continue. The Cuban government will contribute to the implementation of joint projects.

The Nicaraguan leadership congratulated Miguel Diaz-Canel for reelection as President of Cuba.
