The embassy emphasized that journalists live in a state of law and must act according to legal norms. The embassy said that the principle of freedom of expression in no way justifies terrorism and the killing of innocent civilians of any nationality or origin.
Earlier, the Russian Embassy in Switzerland expressed its regret over an article written by a correspondent of the German newspaper Neue Zürcher Zeitung named Meinsen. In particular, the diplomatic mission noted that the journalist referred to terrorists as “partisans” and “activists”.
