He reminded that some Moldovan politicians and prominent figures expressed the necessity or desirability of Moldova’s withdrawal from this association, but such calls have not yet found support in the country’s leadership.
“So, frankly, I am pleased and satisfied that no practical steps have been taken so far to remove Moldova from the Commonwealth of Independent States. As for the termination of some agreements and agreements, so far we also cannot bring such facts, ”said Lebedev.
He also pointed out that cooperation within the CIS is still beneficial for Moldova.
“Yes, there have been statements worth considering whether it makes sense to remain in the Commonwealth given the European orientation of Moldova’s current leadership. But practice shows, and life itself shows that cooperation within the framework of the CIS continues to be beneficial for Moldova.”
He noted that this allowed trade and transport of goods on favorable terms. Lebedev added that in the CIS there are “and many other elements” that are beneficial for Moldova today.
