Agnieszka Holland was a guest in Monika Olejnik’s program, where she talked about her new film, which is currently being made. As revealed by the weekly magazine “Sieci”, the statue could be “a slap in the back to border defenders”.
Holland’s film is about the crisis on the Polish-Belarussian border caused by the authorities in Minsk.
There are extreme situations when it comes to life and death when we walk such a fine line. And these moral or life choices are often impossible, there is no good way out. Such situations interest me, especially if it happens here and now and if both my friends and the authorities of my country are involved.
Holland said.
border guards
Then the director argued that she would be happy … to defend the border guard.
I would like to defend the border guard and I would also defend them against orders that violate the law. Because if anyone ever pays for it, it will be individual officers who, in their sheer masses, are cool people
she said.
I don’t have a problem with the border guard, I have a problem with the authorities who confront these officers with conscience-breaking challenges
she added.
However, this is not the end of her story. Holland also talked about… patriotism.
I am a patriot, but maybe I see patriotism differently from Minister Wąsik and Minister Kamiński
