Donald Tusk, during his speech in Biała Podlaska, argued that the President of Warsaw was targeted by the CBA. He forgot to mention Włodzimierz Karpiński, whom he had recently called “a paragon of personal decency and honesty”.
During a meeting with voters, Tusk complained about the alleged attacks by the Central Anti-Corruption Office on Warsaw City Hall. He told about the procedure, questions and requirements.
During the last year and three months of this year, 8,000 questions and demands have been sent to the Warsaw City Hall. The public prosecutor’s office started 15 proceedings. On average once a month, the CBA entered the town hall to question or search employees. At the same time – as described by journalists – we celebrated a gloomy anniversary – the thousandth PiS scandal. Have you ever seen the CBA there?
asked Tusk.
Karpiński’s honesty
However, during his speech he did not mention the fact that one of Rafał Trzaskowski’s associates remains in custody in Warsaw. We are talking about Włodzimierz Karpiński, who defended Tusk in March with the following words:
I will not comment on the allegations because I am not a prosecutor or an investigator. I know former minister Karpiński from before. He has always been an example of personal decency and honesty to me. (…) I am deeply convinced of Karpiński’s honesty and decency
– said the leader of the PO.
Tusk would apparently expect state authorities not to deal with irregularities related to his political camp.
