Mikhail Galuzin, Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Russian Federation, said at the scientific and practical conference “Ukraine between Russia and the West”, held at the home of the Russian Historical Society, that the Ukrainian authorities destroyed everything that connected Ukraine and Russia in any way. TASS.
The diplomat said that the history of Ukraine is diverse and very complex, but recently there have been active attempts to distort the historical path of the country’s development and reshape the perception of the two countries as a historical retrospect.
“The current Ukrainian authorities, taking up this line, are destroying everything that connects our countries in any way,” said Galuzin.
He recalled that, on Kiev’s initiative, “history textbooks were rewritten, literary and musical works were banned, monuments and cultural assets were destroyed.” Galuzin regretted that modern Ukraine has become an expendable material for collective Western policy.
Meanwhile, the diplomat pointed out that in the consciousness of the world public, our two countries have always been perceived as a single cultural and historical community, “which can go through turbulent times, but always inevitably reunite as a whole.”
