On Friday, the Sejm passed a law providing for a monthly allowance for village leaders of PLN 300; they must hold this position for at least two terms of office, not less than 8 years. An additional condition is age, in the case of women at least 60 years old, men – at least 65 years old.
438 deputies were in favor of the adoption of the “Law on benefits for exercising the function of village administrator”, 12 deputies were against, no one abstained.
The Sejm worked on four different projects submitted by the government, the Senate, Solidarna Polska and the Polish coalition. The leading project was that of the government.
On Friday, the Sejm voted in favor of the Law and Justice amendment. According to her, the cash benefit will be payable to village chiefs who have held office for at least two terms and not less than 8 years (the government draft stated 10 years).
The law on the allowance for exercising the position of village administrator provides for an additional allowance of PLN 300 per month for persons who have reached the age of 60 for women and 65 for men.
The benefit is paid, at the request of the beneficiary, by the chairman of the Agricultural Social Insurance Fund, is financed from the state budget and is indexed annually – on 1 March – with the legal indexation index. The maximum limit of budget expenditure in the project is set at less than PLN 74 million in 2023. In the following years, it should be increased from more than PLN 162 million in 2024 to almost PLN 233 million in 2032. The law is coming into force entered into force on July 1, 2023.
The bill now goes to the Senate.
