Under the PiS rule, the sale of land and forest land to foreigners increased; we expect accurate, detailed reports from the Ministry of Interior and Administration, to whom and how much of this land has been sold – said MPs from the Polish coalition club PSL, UED and conservatives Jarosław Rzepa, Stefan Krajewski and Krzysztof Paszyk on Thursday.
The PiS government is very good at selling Polish land to foreigners
– said Krzysztof Paszyk at a press conference in the Sejm.
Referring to the report published by the Ministry of Interior and Administration, Jarosław Rzepa said that since the PiS government began in 2015, sales of forest and agricultural land to foreigners have increased year after year.
According to the latest report, this is 5,119 ha for 2022
noted the politician.
He recalled that “when the PO-PSL government ended its functioning in 2015, 412 hectares of agricultural and forest land were sold to foreigners in Poland.”
This bothers us greatly
– added a PSL politician.
Polish land is being sold to foreign hands and we expect the Minister of the Interior and Administration to carry out detailed checks and present exactly who bought how much of this land
said Krajewski.
He pointed out that “the data shows that most of the land was purchased by companies registered in Luxembourg, Cyprus.”
We don’t know if they are citizens of that lineage or if they came from the East and bought land here
said the politician.
As he added: “This needs to be explained, because PiS will go to the countryside again, it will count on the votes of the peasants and in the meantime it will be a false defender of the Polish countryside.”
The deputy chairman of the Committee on Agriculture and Rural Development, Leszek Galemba (PiS), who was asked by PAP to comment on the PSL club’s allegations, stated that “these are false and undermined statements”. “We do not sell farmland or land from state farms to foreigners,” Galemba said. As he noted, “when we sell land to foreigners, it is for big investments that create new jobs and such investors are effectively attracted to Poland by Prime Minister Mateusz Morawiecki.”
Wasik’s reply
Deputy Minister Maciej Wąsik responded to the allegations made by the PSL.
And also for @KosiniakKamysz. In 2022, the PiS government allowed foreigners to buy 30 hectares of farmland. In 2014, the PO-PSL government allowed foreigners to buy 1,030 hectares of agricultural land. Which government sold Polish land?
he wrote on Twitter.
It was PSL that negotiated the accession treaty, which in 2016 opened up trade in farmland for EU citizens. It was only the PiS government that introduced rules granting preferential rights to Polish farmers. The Ministry of the Interior and Administration authorized the purchase of only 30 hectares of land by foreigners from outside the EU
