“A talk at the US think tank Atlantic Council, a meeting with representatives of the International Monetary Fund and with Prime Minister of Ukraine Denys Shmyhal is the plan for the last day of Prime Minister Mateusz Morawiecki’s visit to the US, government spokesman Piotr Müller told PAP.
A rich program of the visit
The head of the Polish government has been visiting the United States since Tuesday. On the first day of his visit, he met US Vice President Kamala Harris, and on the second day Mr. visited Lockheed Martin factories, as well as Anniston Army Depot, ie companies producing F-35 fighters and Abrams tanks for Poland.

At the same time, he pointed out that the geopolitical upheavals caused by Russia are one of the main topics being discussed in Washington. He noted that relations with China are also an issue.
We have heard French President Emmanuel Macron’s statements in this regard, therefore public opinion in the US is very interested in the approach of the EU and European countries in this particular dispute, discussion of China’s role in the global economic relations. This will be one of the topics discussed at the Atlantic Council meeting
Muller announced. He added that issues related to the current situation regarding the Russian attack on Ukraine will also be discussed at the meeting.
Later on Thursday, at the request of the Ukrainian side, a meeting will be held in Washington between Prime Minister Morawiecki and the head of the Ukrainian government, Denys Szmyhal, who is also in the US at the time.

He added that the final point of Prime Minister Morawiecki’s visit to the US will be a discussion at the International Monetary Fund about the global economic situation and risks related to the war situation, as well as the liquidity problems of some banks around the world.
The government spokesman notes that a discussion on the reconstruction of Ukraine and the construction of a financial package for the reconstruction of this country will take place behind the scenes. He noted that Polish companies can also benefit from this package.

On Wednesday evening, the head of the Polish government announced in a Facebook post that it will participate in an interview with the Atlantic Council think tank on Thursday at 2:30-3:30 PM (8:30-9:30 AM local time), where he will “explain the Polish position presenting about the geopolitical changes currently taking place in Europe”.
