Showing off “democracy” is like carrying street-market copies of famous brands with truck-sized signs and inscriptions.
One of the funniest and grotesque terms used by the opposition is the word ‘democratic’. Not that democracy in itself is ridiculous and grotesque, although its liberal variant comes very close to it. On the one hand out of pretense, on the other hand out of subcutaneous murderousness that emerges behind the liberal facade. The pretense of the “democrats” is sheer kitsch, and their propensity for murder stems directly from the belief that this is the final, pinnacle, goal, and most mature stage of human development. And this belief, of course, is also pretentious, although its effects are rather dire.
I am not going to pester today’s “democrats” by reminding that the “democratic camp” was the name of the communist gang, supported since 1944 by the bayonets and tanks of the Red Army and the NKVD’s force apparatus, other criminals in Soviet uniforms and secret police wearing formal Polish attire. That gang of “democrats” not only killed Polish patriots, tortured and persecuted them in every possible way (plus abused their families), but also heavily falsified the greatest symbols of democracy, i.e. the elections and the “popular referendum” in 1946.
Even as the communist gang ceased to be massively criminal, though it never renounced killing, it called the establishment of its bumbling and partly murderous rule “democratic socialism” or “democratic centralism”. The latter was not only a semantic monster, but also an oxymoron. Centralism, a form of Zamordism, cannot be ‘democratic’ after all. As today, no formation can be “democratic” that wants to put you in jail (preferably without trial), organize show trials or use blind retaliation. But that’s just sad, not funny.
The bloating and reflexes that come with being classified as “democratic” are ridiculous. Some interested parties feel the pretentiousness of this classification and the associated kitsch, which does not prevent them from proudly labeling themselves with such labels. It’s like wearing counterfeits of well-known brands bought at the bazaar, with inscriptions and signs the size of a semi-truck for all the world to see. The world, of course, knows that no self-respecting company puts truck-sized signs and inscriptions on their products, but the show-offs are so addicted to broadcasting that they belong to some “elite” that they are not only blind for their own embarrassment, but also for the blubber that observers have of them.
Where does the label with “democratic” slogans come from, even if it’s something like truck-sized signs on counterfeits? Of complexes, of course. Only people with complexes should show off some signs, labels, stickers or inscriptions. They have the impression that someone is watching them all the time and takes the signals they give seriously. In fact, ordinary people, let alone experts, hang and wave, but posers don’t want to see it. Therefore, they constantly have to demonstrate something.
The funniest and at the same time most grotesque thing is that the more you want to show that you belong to a group or community, want to be considered a member of it and bask in the warmth of ideas about it, the more you can see the straw in the shoes, and at best, lacing. It follows that this flaunting of “democratic” clothes is something like collecting bottles of Western liquor or packs of cigarettes in the times of the People’s Republic of Poland. Absolute shame.
Just as funny as the embarrassing outfit is the belief that a pretentious and kitschy ‘democratic’ spectacle is seen as something original and sophisticated. And this even if the naked eye can see that everyone around is making an unimaginable burp of all these pathetic attempts. At a deeper level, it is probably a cultural issue or a question of cultural competence and the unobtrusive assertiveness that follows (the pushyness is usually a characteristic of ignorant people).
From the point of view of cultural competence, huge complexes of “young, educated and from big cities” can be seen. They are afraid of two things. First, the constant exams they fail even when no one asks them to do anything. Second, that no matter how hard they try, the straw can always come out or stick out of their shoes somewhere. In this sense, joining the “democratic” camp and carrying the signs (even the size of a semi-truck) is supposed to be a cover, a barrier, an umbrella or a shield. Mainly by being fooled.
Of course, in the real world, pirate numbers don’t work, so all the “democratic” complexes are magnified and shout it out loud. But when you get addicted to counterfeits with truck-sized markings, you just start thinking you’re doing the opposite. As a result, we have a pathetic spectacle, and the term “democratic” is not only ridiculous, but also shows how undemocratic its content is. “Democratic opposition” doesn’t sound proud at all. That sounds extremely embarrassing.
