Former US President Donald Trump will return to New York on April 13 to testify for a second time in a $250 million fraud case filed by State Attorney General Letitia James. ABC News with reference to sources.
Trump first testified in August 2022 in a fraud case in which he, his older children, and the Trump Organization were accused of fraudulently inflating the value of a real estate portfolio and net worth. At the time, the prosecutor’s meeting lasted about four hours, and the former president did not answer many questions except to confirm that he understood the basic rules and procedures.
The lawsuit alleges that the defendants engaged in a fraudulent scheme between 2011 and 2021 to encourage banks to provide loans on the most favorable terms, specifically the Florida property and Mar-a-Lago golf resort valued at $739 million. The prosecution wants the court to fine the defendants $250 million and ban the politician and his children from running registered businesses in New York state.
