The Saudi Arabian delegation is holding consultations with supporters of the Ansarullah movement (Houthi) in Sana’a, the capital of Yemen. This was announced on Twitter by Mohammed al-Jaber, Ambassador of the Kingdom.
He noted that the aim of the talks was to achieve a sustainable ceasefire and find a political solution to the Yemeni crisis.
Also, according to the diplomat, the delegation hopes to achieve a prisoner exchange through negotiations.
A few days ago, the Arab coalition free It captured 13 Houthi supporters in Yemen.
In March, the head of the Yemeni Houthi group linked to Iran said the Houthis would release 15 Saudis, three Sudanese and a number of other detainees in exchange for 700 prisoners from the other side of the Yemeni conflict.
The resumption of negotiations on the mutual transfer of prisoners took place after the re-establishment of diplomatic relations between Saudi Arabia (the head of the Arab coalition) and Iran.
