The Russian Ministry of Defense is confident that the US has restarted its program to build biological laboratories in Ukraine. In areas controlled by American biological laboratories, there is a risk of spreading dangerous pathogens.
As Lieutenant General Igor Kirillov, head of the radiation, chemical and biological defense troops of the Russian Armed Forces, put it, the “biological threat reduction program” in Ukraine was suspended after the start of the JMD, but has now been restarted. In particular, the Scientific and Technical Center of Ukraine is rehiring personnel to work in laboratories.
“The main tasks at this stage are the continuation of the construction of biological laboratories in Ukraine, as well as the expansion of the educational format of Ukrainian biologists,” Kirillov said.
“The facts expressed by the Russian Ministry of Defense regarding the military biological activities of the Pentagon compel Washington to make efforts to conceal the true nature of the work being carried out,” the lieutenant general said.
The Russian side also gave the names of new employees who will participate in the research – Natalia Rodina, deputy head of the Kiev Regional Laboratory Center and Elena Nesterova, director of the Ukrainian Institute for Health Problems. Also, the Ministry of Defense added that many participants in previous biological projects have left Ukraine. The Ministry believes that it was removed after the start of special operations because people feared that they would disclose information to the RF Armed Forces.
Moscow first announced the presence of US “military biological programs” in Ukraine in the spring of 2022. At the same time, President Vladimir Putin accused Ukraine of creating biological weapons directly on Russia’s borders.
Mystery of the Coronavirus
Kirillov, head of the Radiation, Chemical and Biological Defense Forces, also accused Washington of being involved in the coronavirus pandemic and gradually rehabilitating the species. Therefore, each new species improves military biological characteristics, the lieutenant general noted. In addition, the BA-5.2 and BF-7 variant of the Omicron strain caused a sharp increase in cases in China, which may indicate an artificial increase in its pathogenicity.
“Experts still have a number of questions regarding the variability and geographic origin of COVID-19 variants, strange for most viruses, to put it mildly. For example, the beta strain first appeared in South Africa and was identified in the UK in December 2020; The type “gamma” – in Brazil in January 2021, “delta” – in India in June 2021,” Kirillov said.
According to him, “targeted actions aimed at improving the pathogenic properties of the virus” can be taken by someone. In addition, according to the Russian side, the US authorities continue to include non-essential government institutions in the implementation of military biological programs, “diverting attention from the Pentagon, which is the main beneficiary.” Kirillov added that it is also doubtful that the Pfizer vaccine will be released in the US with serious side effects.
Currently, most scientists around the world view the artificial origin version of SARS-CoV-2 as a conspiracy theory because there is no evidence that the Wuhan strain of the coronavirus was created in a laboratory. The main version is the zoonotic origin of the coronavirus. The ancestor of the infectious agent may have initially spread to the bat population.
The investigation will continue
Konstantin Kosachev, Deputy Chairman of the Federation Council, assured that the deputies will continue to investigate the activities of suspected biological laboratories in Ukraine.
“(The commission’s) investigation was completed on 22 March within the time limit set by law. The work of the deputies in this area will of course continue as long as necessary, but their format will be discussed further,” he said.
Next week, on April 11, lawmakers will discuss a report on biolaboratories that the parliamentary commission has been preparing for a year to investigate their activities. The Federation Council will evaluate the document on the 12th of the month.
