“Trzaskowski is a politician young enough to play several roles in public life, and once he becomes president, it will be a political retirement. There’s one problem with him: he just doesn’t want to fight, says onet.pl journalist Renata Grochal in an interview with Andrzej Stankiewicz.
Onet journalists pondered the personnel puzzles Civic Platform can undertake in the run-up to the election, in an effort to maximize the election result. The columnists’ discussion shows disappointment at the inconsistency of the opposition camp, as well as predictions about the third term of the Law and Justice government.
It would be possible to create an entirely new grouping on the ruins of these parties – especially PO and PSL – but they have not decided to do so. First of all, Trzaskowski did not want to go into it, because he is still a bit in the “corridor”, he focuses on Warsaw. I think the scenario that would bring Tusk Trzaskowski to the front line, as Kaczyński once took Szydło and Duda, would be realistic, but not at this stage of the campaign. That would be a rescue solution
Grochal says.
If Tusk actually sees that the campaign will be in full swing, that the PO has stopped at, say, 27 percent, that the opposition is not growing, that PiS may well get a third term – because the opposition, whose ratings have fallen “en bloc” , loses its power runs away – Tusk may decide to “roll on the tape” appoint Trzaskowski as prime minister
he adds.
Lazy Trzaskowski?
The journalist from Onet and “Newsweek” also expressed her disappointment with the attitude of Rafał Trzaskowski, who she says is not active enough in the election campaign, mainly because “he doesn’t want to”. The publicist said there could be a bright political future for Trzaskowski, but she’s not sure the characterological flaws of the Warsaw president won’t get in the way.
I think Trzaskowski does not have such a temperament, he is not a fighter like Tusk, because Tusk grit his teeth and go to Poland, he fights for votes. Trzaskowski is one such presidential candidate, although I believe the presidential election is a waste of his potential. Trzaskowski is a politician young enough to play several roles in public life, and once he becomes president, it will be a political retirement. There’s one problem with him: he just doesn’t want to fight
he concludes.
The dintojra on the opposition seems to be tightening. Not only PSL and Szymon Hołownia, as the main troublemakers, found themselves in the crosshairs of journalists who openly supported PO, but even Rafał Trzaskowski was criticized as a potential rival to Donald Tusk for power in the party. What else will the “free media” do to smooth Tusk’s rise to power?
