Representatives of the services responsible for border controls presented the current situation regarding imports of agricultural products from Ukraine at the meeting of the crisis staff, the Ministry of Agriculture said in a press release. The new head of the ministry, Robert Telus, will go to the Polish-Ukrainian border on Friday, where he will meet his Ukrainian counterpart.
Crisis team meeting
As announced by the newly appointed Agriculture Minister, Robert Telus, a crisis staff meeting was held on Thursday evening. The meeting was attended by members of the Ministry’s management, deputy ministers: Rafał Romanowski, Anna Gembicka, Ryszard Bartosik and Krzysztof Ciecióra. The meeting was chaired by Minister Robert Telus.

The staff meeting was also attended by department directors, as well as representatives from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the Ministry of Development and Technology, the Chief Veterinary Inspectorate, the Chief Sanitary Inspectorate, the State Plant Health and Seed Inspection, the Agricultural and Food Trade Inspectorate, the Border Guard, State Treasury, Customs and Treasury, National Agriculture Support Center and Elewarr.
Both rail and road transport are fully controlled, so that no product of uncertain quality is allowed into Poland, and therefore the European Union. The quality of imported products must comply with regulations. This is extremely important to us, both for food safety and for the export of our food

According to the minister, it is also very important to export grains to empty the warehouses for the harvest. He said that the Ministry of Foreign Affairs was looking for markets. He expressed the hope that the grain surplus can be liquefied until harvest.
Telus goes to the border
The Minister of Agriculture announced that he would visit the Polish-Ukrainian border on Friday together with Deputy Minister Rafał Romanowski.
At the border we will also meet the Minister of Agriculture of Ukraine Mykola Solski to get acquainted with the proposals from the Ukrainian side regarding the export of agricultural products from this country

The head of the Ministry of Agriculture also announced regular meetings of the crisis team; at least once or twice a week.
