Zbigniew Ziobro has already led to the dissolution of the United Right camp once – said government spokesman Piotr Müller on Thursday about the tweet from the leader of Solidarna Polska about the withdrawal by Zamość councilors of a resolution in support of Archbishop Marek Jędraszewski.
Council members withdrew the 2019 resolution on Wednesday for fear of losing EU funds. Reacting to this decision, the President of Solidarna Polska and the Minister of Justice, Zbigniew Ziobro, wrote on Twitter that “this is how succumbing to blackmail ends” and “concessions to Brussels will not work”, contrary to the assurances of Prime Minister Mateusz Morawiecki.
It is difficult for me to comment on the decisions of councilors in individual cities, it is their sovereign right
– said Müller at a press conference on Thursday, when asked about the decision of Zamość councilors. Referring to Ziobro’s entry, he said that “minister Ziobro once, in 2011, led to the dissolution of the camp of the united right.”
I think he has drawn the right conclusions after that period. I hope every member of the United Right camp has learned from the mistakes of 2011
– added.
Withdrawn resolution
Almost four years ago, Zamość councilors took a stand in defense of Archbishop Marek Jędraszewski after his words about the “rainbow plague” during the Holy Mass marking the 75th anniversary of the outbreak of the Warsaw Uprising. As he said then: “The red plague is no longer on our land, but a new, neo-Marxist plague has appeared, which wants to take over our souls, hearts and minds. Not red, but rainbow.”
On Wednesday, councilors approved the ordinance. As they wrote in the justification, the need for withdrawal stems “from the risk of losing EU funds to the city of Zamość or by entities controlled or dependent on it”.
There were 6 councilors in favor of withdrawing the position on Jędraszewski, 2 people voted against and 5 abstained. Eight councilors did not vote.
This is how you eventually succumb to blackmail. Solidarna Polska warned, but Mateusz Morawiecki assured that concessions to Brussels would be beneficial. They won’t, because extortionists want more and more – today they enforced impunity for attacks on the church, tomorrow they will take away our sovereignty
