Ukraine’s Ivano-Frankivsk city court has arrested Oksana Marchenko, the wife of Ukrainian opposition politician Viktor Medvedchuk, in absentia for “funding actions aimed at overthrowing the constitutional order” in that country. This was reported by the TV channel “Direct”, with reference to the data of the court registry.
Regarding Marchenko and his director, Inna Paliy, it was noted that a restraining measure was chosen in the form of detention. The court session took place without the participation of the suspects, who are currently in Russia, according to the channel.
The court statement alleges that Marchenko financed 10.4 million hryvnia (about $283,000) units of the Russian Armed Forces in Crimea.
