Thousands of people marched through the streets of Warsaw during the National Papal March to show gratitude for John Paul II’s pontificate and to defend his legacy. At the same time, Roman Giertych posted a series of his arguments on Twitter. The lawyer tried to hit the organizers by saying that the march was a “disaster” because there were… 500 people.
On Palm Sunday, the opening of Holy Week in the Catholic Church, this year marks the 18th anniversary of St. John Paul II. On this occasion, the National Papal March was held in the capital, attended by tens of thousands of people.

Papal march according to Giertych
Although the photos of the Warsaw march show something completely different, Roman Giertych stated in a Twitter post that the event was a “disaster” by the organizers, as he estimated 500 people took part. In addition, according to the lawyer, only abnormal people participated in the event, because “normal” people were busy shopping and experiencing “expensive PiS Sunday.”
500 people at the papal march in Warsaw. The disaster of the organizers. They’ll probably blame the weather, but in that case they’ll have to assume the sky didn’t want the march since it felt -1 and rain on April 2. Meanwhile, normal people experience #DrogaNiedzielaPiS
said Giertych.
Does a meeting with 500 people look like this?

“Prayer” for release from PiS
However, this is not the end of absurd arguments. Giertych also posted a photo with John Paul II, and in the entry he stated that he prayed for the Pope to “liberate us from PiS”.
At the very beginning of this century, I had the honor of meeting John Paul II, the most famous Pole in history. This pope has freed us from communism. I pray to Him today to deliver us from PiS
– wrote Roman Giertych.
It is worth recalling that the lawyer recently thundered in collaboration with Tomasz Lis that Law and Justice is allegedly using the pope for his political purposes. And what does Giertych himself do now? They don’t mention how he miraculously counted 500 people on the Warsaw march…
