“For me it is an incredible story. People say how much it hurt them. People who say you have to defend your good name…” – this is about the attack on St. Jana Pawła II, PiS MEP Beata Szydło spoke in the program “Gość Wiadomości” (TVP Info).
A colleague from my group in the EP told me: this is incredible, after all he is an important figure for all of Europe
said Szydlo.

There was an attempt to attack the values sacred to Poland. An attempt to sow divisions between the Poles. It is important that we are together about this. Regardless of whether we are Catholic or not, whatever our views are, there are certain things that should unite us, otherwise those who want to attack Poland will have it easier. Poles are not allowed to share
noted the former prime minister.
I hope this case will strengthen the Polish community. (…) May this community grow ever stronger
– said Beata Szydlo.
The target of the attack
The former prime minister pointed out that people who took part in the attack on the memory of St. John Paul II counted on a completely different effect than the following.
Those who started the discussion had hoped for something completely different. They hoped that this topic would get heated, be viewed positively, and it happened otherwise. This gives us more confidence in Poland and Poland – we are a country and a society that does not allow things that are important to us to be attacked. Let’s not share
said Szydlo.
We Poles should judge this attack as follows: Our Mother House, our Holy Pope, was attacked. I feel more and think that we should all show ourselves as a unit, a community, Poland. It is better that the Poles do not use this situation for their own purposes. I hope that during these marches or concerts no one will think of attacking these initiatives. (…) May we come out of this history strengthened
she noted.
I would like to appeal to all Poles that John Paul II remains a sacred Pole for us. (…) This attack on the Pope was an attempted political game. Everyone who did it learned a lesson and found it failed
– emphasized the PiS MEP.
