We keep our election promises, we are credible. For us, senior citizens policy is the foundation of social policy and the entire philosophy of the state, Prime Minister Mateusz Morawiecki said on Friday at the conference ‘Government close to seniors’.
During the conference organized at the family ministry, the Prime Minister spoke about policy for the elderly.
Free Poland after 1989 seems to have forgotten senior citizens. She treated seniors like a fifth wheel on the bandwagon. Why have seniors been treated this way continuously for almost 25 years? Well this happened because there was no social sensitivity in the first place, there was no solidarity building our seniors generation
Morawiecki emphasized.
As he added, there was a second reason – it was “ruined public finances”.
According to the prime minister, the state budget was “a hole like a colander” during the Civic Platform’s rule.
Unfortunately, this has to be said with all the force, because the recovery of public finances was the real, main and fundamental reason that today we can deal with our social policy in a very different way, of which the senior policy is a part
noted Morawiecki.
“Our predecessors always said: Promise twice, deliver once”
He stressed that the United Right began its rule by fulfilling its election promise.
It sounds trivial, but it’s never happened before. Our predecessors always said: promise twice, deliver once. We keep our election promises, we are credible. That is why we have lowered the retirement age raised by the Civic Platform
– he said.
For us, the senior policy towards today’s grandmothers, mothers and fathers is the basis of social policy and the entire philosophy of the state
added the head of government.
