We are determined to support Polish farmers, but also to indicate who was behind that “this is what happened to grain as it happened”, which companies participated and who manages them – said PiS Secretary General Krzysztof Sobolewski in Program One Polish Radio. “As they say, spring is going to be green, and in this case it’s probably very green there too, very green” – he added enigmatically.
“We are also determined to find out who was behind it.”
The PiS politician was questioned on Friday about farmers’ problems related to the large amount of Ukrainian grain imported into Poland. Sobolewski admitted that this grain would be exported to countries in need, North Africa, but unfortunately this did not happen 100 percent.
At the same time, he stated that the ruling party is determined to support Polish peasants.
We are also committed to pointing out who was behind the grain turning out the way it did. Finally, it will also have to be stated which companies have participated and who manages these companies, who has the deciding vote. And it may come as a great surprise in some circles who are now screaming, trying to accuse the Prime Minister (Agriculture Minister Henryk) Kowalczyk or the United Right camp that no action has been taken
said Sobolewski.
Measures were taken all the time, only I remind you that the Polish border with Ukraine is the external border of the EU and EU regulations apply to it
– added.
Which environments? “It is also very green there”
Asked which circles he was talking about, the politician replied: “The circles that shout about it the most right now.”
As they say, spring is green and in this case it’s probably very green there too, very green
– added.
A special letter to the head of the European Commission
After Wednesday’s government meeting, Prime Minister Mateusz Morawiecki announced that a special letter on the inflow of Ukrainian grain to Poland would be addressed to President Ursula von der Leyen. It is said to be a letter from the prime ministers of several EU countries demanding “immediate action, immediate use of all tools, all available procedures and regulations to limit the impact of Ukrainian grain on the markets of Ukraine’s neighboring countries”.
Morawiecki also announced that he had directed Deputy Prime Minister, Agriculture Minister Henryk Kowalczyk, to develop rules allowing the liquidation of some of the grain from Ukraine that had accumulated in Poland, i.e. for sale in North Africa and the Middle East, and appropriate regulations that would limit the flow of this grain to Poland.
