“The ban on the sale of combustion cars after 2035 is an idea unacceptable to the Law and Justice government, Prime Minister Mateusz Morawiecki stressed. The head of the Polish government added a video to the entry on Twitter, indicating that Poland disagrees with the eco-revolution led by rich countries and big companies.
The idea is unacceptable
The Council of the EU has adopted a regulation with stricter CO2 emission standards for new cars and vans. The scheme is based on 100 percent. reduction of carbon dioxide emissions for new vehicles after 2035. These provisions prohibit the registration of new cars with internal combustion engines from 2035. Only Poland opposed these provisions. Bulgaria, Romania and Italy abstained.
The ban on the sale of combustion cars after 2035 is an idea NOT ACCEPTABLE by the government @pisorgpl. We will do everything we can to protect Polish families from yet another pseudo-ecological invention of rich countries and bureaucrats from Brussels! We want a green transformation that understands and supports Member States, and does not destroy their economies and ordinary citizens’ budgets
Prime Minister Mateusz Morawiecki stressed.
The head of government also published a video highlighting that the EU actions would affect the Polish economy and lead to communications exclusion.
Ecology is one of the priorities of the Polish government. But not when the goals are set in behind-the-scenes negotiations, against the will and interests of millions of Europeans – including Poland. Therefore, Poland was the only country to oppose the EU Council’s decision to ban the sale of combustion cars from 2035. We will all feel the effects of this decision much sooner. The Polish government does not agree, as it will blow the household budgets of Polish families, will result in the exclusion of millions of people from communications, and will harm our industry, which produces parts for many global car brands. Eco-revolution cannot be carried out under the precepts of rich countries and big companies, against the economic interests of Europe and the Europeans. We must shape the future of Europe by acting responsibly and openly in line with the interests and rights of the citizens of the Member States
– indicated in the published place.
