Ukraine has never been alone and will never be left alone, because the Ukrainians are fighting for all of us and for all of us. If we don’t stop Russia, Russia will go much further, President Andrzej Duda said on Wednesday.
President Duda participated remotely on Wednesday at the Second Summit for Democracy hosted by US President Joe Biden.
During the First Democracy Summit (in December 2021) we talked – I then talked about the situation in Belarus under the regime of (Alyaksandr) Lukashenko and also about the pressure on the democratic opposition. Months later, a hybrid operation took place, a migrant crisis on Poland’s eastern border led by Minsk but controlled by the Kremlin
said the Polish leader.
As he stressed, it was “a prelude to the later attack on Ukraine”.
This Russian war in Ukraine showed the true face of Putin’s (Vladimir) regime. Barbarism and an attack on the civilian part of the inhabitants of Ukraine. The goal was to destroy Ukraine. Added to this was the food and economic crisis that arose all over the world
said the chairman.
As he noted, the Ukrainians bravely resisted the Russian attack.
I am proud that Poland and other countries have provided strong support to the Ukrainians, because a free, democratic world is not just a theoretical concept, but a real community of values
Duda emphasized.
As he said, Poland’s leading role in response to the Russian invasion of Ukraine was “unprecedented”. “We were on the frontline in terms of aid, including military aid to Ukraine, to repel the Russian aggressor and to impose significant sanctions on Russia,” he stressed.
The president pointed out that Poland has taken in more refugees from Ukraine than any other country in Europe since the invasion began.
And not in refugee camps, but we welcomed them into our homes. Today, Poland is home to more than 3.5 million Ukrainians. According to OSCE data, we can see that Poland spent more than $9 billion last year – 1.5% of GDP. of our GDP on humanitarian aid to Ukraine
– said Andrzej Duda.
Support for Ukraine and Belarus
He notes that we also act as a logistics hub for transferring aid to and from other countries.
Poland will continue to support Ukraine to stop this Russian imperialism. We will also continue our support for democratic Belarus
declared the chairman.
Ukraine has never been alone and will not be left alone in this struggle, because the Ukrainians are fighting for all of us and for all of us. If we don’t stop Russia, Russia will go much further
– said Andrzej Duda.
