“I will vote to defend the minister, because in a parliamentary democracy you always defend your ministers, even if you have comments about their functioning. I fully supported Kowalczyk when he became minister, I called on the peasants to trust him. The government cannot solve this problem,” said Jan Krzysztof Ardanowski on Wnet radio. former Minister of Agriculture, Chairman of the Council for Agriculture and Rural Areas to the President of the Republic of Poland.
Denial of confidence in the Minister of Agriculture
Recall that Władysław Kosiniak-Kamysz informed that PSL had submitted a motion to the Sejm on behalf of a group of deputies to dismiss Agriculture Minister Henryk Kowalczyk. The former head of this ministry, Jan Krzysztof Ardanowski, was questioned on the radio Wnet about the case.
I will vote to defend the minister, because in a parliamentary democracy you always defend your ministers, even if you have comments about their functioning. I fully supported Kowalczyk when he became minister, I called on the peasants to trust him. The government is not addressing this problem
said Ardanowski.
The president’s adviser pointed out that PSL politicians are “old political crooks too” and publicly told Kosiniak-Kamysz that he was strengthening the minister with such a conclusion, because “of course he will be defended”.
This is the rule of parliamentary majority democracy and then the problem of dismissal is more complicated
noted the politician.

Ardanowski also pointed out that the fact that bad things are happening in the countryside, that there is unrest and discontent, which politicians cling to, is a gift to the opposition during the campaign.
There is simply no better situation when you can score points every day and the rulers have no way to defend themselves
– took note of the Chairman of the Council of Agriculture and Rural Areas under the President of the Republic of Poland.
Put on the lists
The question of the electoral lists was also discussed in the conversation. Ardanowski said directly that he “unequivocally expects to be on the Law and Justice list”.
I’ve been in PiS for almost 22 years and – from what I understand – it’s probably not in danger. However, if it is threatened, I will run for Senate from my own committee. It will probably send a rather unpleasant signal to Law and Justice that the person to whom at least many people in the countryside still show some support and sympathy, would be very sorry if the village decided that PiS is no longer with the countryside.
– said Jan Krzysztof Ardanowski on Radio Wnet. As he added, the people responsible for the “five for animals” confused Jarosław Kaczyński and suggested that since he is against these solutions, he should not be on the PiS list at all.
Nothing is certain in politics but I’ve been associated with this party for over 20 years I gave me my name and face and some money to function so it seems to me it would be a weakening of Law and Justice if I that did not run
added Ardanowski.
Round table about Ukrainian grain
The round table on Ukrainian grain was also discussed. According to the former minister of Agriculture, it is late, but better late than never.
Ardanowski commented on Radio Wnet that he did not underestimate the role of this meeting, because “better late than never”.
Although thinking about what to do, after many months of this phenomenon, (…) only now come together to consider whether the problem exists is a bit late
he said.
He added that a specific proposal from the government is now needed because – as he estimated – “the agriculture minister alone will not be able to cope”.
First of all, we need to have a very accurate estimate – and I’m afraid we don’t – of the amount of grain in storage, because it would be a big mistake to reduce stocks to zero. We need a stable supply of grain for the coming year, also to feed guests from Ukraine, so we should not think in terms of completely emptying the warehouses
– emphasized the former Minister of Agriculture.
When asked if intervention buying would solve the problem, Ardanowski pointed out that a number of actions were needed.
Intervention buying is prohibited in the EU, only a decision can be made at EU level, so this is probably an unfounded commitment
emphasized the politician.
On the other hand, the ways of using it, if there is permission from different ministries, is primarily the processing of grain into bioethanol or spirits added to gasoline. Part of the grain can be used in a biogas plant to produce biomethane. In a normal stable year it might be a waste of grain, but this year some of the grain should be allocated to a biogas plant
he noticed.
Also look for opportunities to export to Africa. The fact that we don’t have state-owned yards is very blocking here, because yards in Poland are rented and operated by Western grain trading companies, so the Polish government is a “grandfather” asking at most from these companies if they want to export something
said Ardanowski.
Also, by giving Africa this grain for free as humanitarian aid, we can pave the way for Polish companies to invest, trade and also use it diplomatically and economically. And finally, perhaps the most difficult way to use grain is to use it for energy. There are special boilers in CHP installations where we can use the heat in the grain
– noted Jan Krzysztof Ardanowski.
