On Monday, at a conference, PiS councilors summed up the unfulfilled election promises of Warsaw Mayor Rafał Trzaskowski. They said, among other things, the Śródmieście ring road, which makes the city greener and does not fulfill the promise to build underground parking garages.
A long list of unfulfilled promises from Trzaskowski!
Councilor Filip Frąckowiak pointed out that the number of unfulfilled promises of Warsaw Mayor Rafał Trzaskowski counts 50 points.
These are proposals for both the entire city and individual districts. Those who voted for Rafał Trzaskowski know today that he is an incredible host, that he is a host who throws his promises, his proposals to the wind and nothing else comes of it or is carried out in the slightest
– he said.
Therefore, we would like to draw the attention of the citizens of Warsaw to the points that Mayor Trzaskowski said a few years ago that he would implement in his first term of office, which is about to end, and which have not been implemented
– added.
The ring road of Śródmieście and the greening of Warsaw
He emphasized that this was the most important Circular route through the city centrewhich would serve all residents of Warsaw who need to travel between districts, as well as visitors.
Another point promised by President Trzaskowski is greening of Warsaw
he noticed. He was critical of the fact that trees should be planted in the middle of the Dmowski roundabout, under which certainly no Varsovians would shelter. He stressed that one of President Trzaskowski’s greatest proposals was the visualization of the surroundings of the Palace of Culture and Science from the west, where the “green aorta” would be located.
Nothing of the kind has been created, except for a few (trees) that have been growing there for many years
he assessed. He also recalled the promises to green the roofs of schools and bus stops, as well as the greening of tram tracks.
This is another unfulfilled promise
he stressed.
What about underground car parks?
Krystian Suchecki, a councilor of Śródmieście, pointed out that the residents of Śródmieście are struggling with the problem of lack of parking spaces, lack of greenery, lack of better municipal and social buildings.
These were the main points of Rafał Trzaskowski’s election manifesto for 2018. The president promised underground parking under Plac Teatralny, Bankowy and Konstytucji
he explained.
There are no such parking spaces
– added.
He drew attention to the increased traffic of cars stuck in traffic jams caused by the excavation of the central streets of the city leading to Śródmieście. It comes from Gagarina, Puławska and Plac Trzech Krzyży, among others.
Nowadays, in addition to the parking problem, the problem of traffic jams has come into the city, which also has no positive impact on the environment
he assessed. He recalled that Mayor Trzaskowski promised 500 electric car stations by 2020.
If we want to close the city, we must first give drivers with electric cars a chance
– he said. He added that public transport, which does not always meet standards, is not an alternative either.
It’s just very busy at the peak of traffic
he assessed.
No rent allowance
He also recalled the promise of rent subsidies for residents who apply to rent municipal and social properties.
This program has not been touched by Rafał Trzaskowski at all. Residents are still waiting and have to pay high rents from free market residents
– he said. Other unfulfilled promises, according to the councilor, are the expansion of the Polonia stadium or additional metro stations in Muranów and Plac Konstytucji.
Unrealized investments in Ochota
Ochota District Council Chairman Krzysztof Wojciechowski mentioned three major investments in Ochota that have not been implemented: a new tram line connecting Wola, Ochota, Mokotów and Wilanów, an underground parking garage and the revitalization of the Skra complex.
As for the construction of the tram line, a few days ago it was announced that only a small part of it would be built from Dworzec Zachodni to Grójecka Street. There is no underground parking in Ochota, not just Ochota
emphasized the alderman.
Instead of additional parking spaces, Mayor Trzaskowski introduces inefficient paid parking zone, announces narrowing of streets, Warsaw stumbles
– added. He recalled that as for the Skra complex, no new facility has been built there.
Skra Stadium
Given the incompetence of the Warsaw authorities and Rafał Trzaskowski, Prime Minister Mateusz Morawiecki announced that he would also invest in the Skra stadium as part of government support
– he said, adding that this investment will be carried out.
