Hungarian Minister of Foreign and Economic Relations, Péter Szijjártó, claims that Dutch television severely distorted his interview and falsified its meaning. This was reported on the page of the politician on the social network.
According to the head of the Hungarian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the journalists of the channel acted maliciously.
“Interview for a Dutch public channel. The following pieces were cut from the air and replaced with phrases like “Hungary is a good friend.” [президента РФ Владимира ] “Putin and everything else we are already used to,” explained Szijjártó.
In the four-minute segments of the interview that disappeared from the television broadcast, it is emphasized that the minister said that the majority of the states are in favor of a peaceful resolution of the conflict in Ukraine.
Szijjarto also denied the journalist’s thesis that Hungary is “between the North Atlantic Alliance and the Russian Federation”. According to him, Budapest does not question its participation in NATO.
