“This sentence also symbolizes Donald Tusk’s attitude towards Poland, Polishness, Polish raison d’être and everything that really matters to Poland, Urszula Rusecka, deputy spokesperson for Law and Justice, told the wPolityce.pl portal.
wPolityce.pl: Law and Justice starts a series of conferences “ZJakiejPakiTusk”. Would you like to tell us more about this?
Urszula Rusecka: This sentence “From what box Tusk” are the words of the PO chairman himself, who addressed in such a disrespectful manner the man who spoke about his family’s history in the context of reparations to Poland.
This phrase also symbolizes Donald Tusk’s attitude towards Poland, Polishness, Polish raison d’être and everything that is really important for Poland. Today’s conference recalled all the actions of Donald Tusk and his party to weaken Poland’s position in the international arena – for example, these 38 resolutions inspired by Civic Platform.
Some will probably say, okay, but why go back to what used to be?”
It is important to remember this, because, unfortunately, Poles often do not remember (which is quite understandable, after all, everyone lives their own life, everyday life) what the Civic Platform rule looked like.
Under such a hashtag, these words-symbols, actually uttered by Donald Tusk himself, we recall the facts from the time of the PO’s reign, but also what awaits us when the PO takes the reins of power. would take over – because we know that Donald Tusk has such great ambitions to become prime minister, and PO – the ruling party in our country.
That is why we ask this question: “And from what package? What, Platforma, have you really done for Poland, and what has Donald Tusk, who held a very important and high position in the EU, really done for Poland? From what package, why do you think you deserve it?
It can be concluded from the conference that you place great emphasis on relations with Germany. And do you also keep reminding us of Donald Tusk’s policy towards Russia?
Our tour of the country and meeting the locals has two goals. On the one hand, it’s a reminder of all we’ve been able to do, the promises we’ve made. Including: reminding – what Donald Tusk and the PO probably don’t remember when launching the campaign titled “expensive” – what this high price is largely due to is that we have come to govern in very difficult circumstances : a world pandemic, an energy crisis and war in Ukraine, that we are a frontline state, which will inevitably affect us.
On the other hand, our meetings also remind Poles of what Civic Platform rule looked like. What was the state of the economy, social policy and foreign policy at that time? The latter is not just the attitude towards Russia – it was mainly a pro-German policy, which was closely related to the pro-Russian policy. But we will also talk, for example, about how diplomatic posts were closed.
Another element is that we would also like to listen to Poland and what they have to say to us, what their expectations are and what challenges await us. These will be postulates that, after analysis by our experts, we will probably present in June as our electoral program for the next four years.
Can Donald Tusk convince voters as he has so far failed to convince even potential coalition partners?
Here we get to the heart of the matter, because the campaign has not even started yet, and there are already disagreements between the coalition partners, they cannot work out a common position, how do the Poles imagine the government if the opposition comes to power ? All the more so because these would be governments in difficult times, when it is necessary to take quick decisions that are good for Poland and in line with Poland’s raison d’être.
Empowering again people who don’t get along before the official start of the election campaign, let alone when really tough dilemmas, challenges arise and a quick response is needed (like the ones we faced during pandemic or war ), is a great experiment that Poland probably cannot afford.
As I understand it, Law and Justice will develop its new program proposals during meetings with Poland. And in the case of Donald Tusk and Civic Platform, can we talk about a program or rather some individual proposals, such as a 0 percent loan? for the first apartment or recently the so-called “grandmother”?
This loan is 0%. have already been crushed by Civic Platform economists, and when it comes to “grandmothers”, I define this project as an act of desperation by Donald Tusk. We know that similar programs already exist.
Moreover, such announcements are completely unbelievable, because we remember that Donald Tusk, for example, promised in his campaigns that he would not raise the retirement age, that he would not raise taxes. We all remember the Platform’s earlier announcements about the flat tax. However, when he came to power, he did the opposite.
When we first announced the Family 500 Plus program in 2014, the then Prime Minister scoffed at us and asked “where are the billions buried”. So I ask, did he count that grandma’s money, where are the funds for this program buried? But in fact, the devil is in the details – if we look at the law, the real proposal, we can look at it realistically. You can promise anything, even worse with the performance.
Thank you very much for the interview.
