We were informed about Macron’s talks with Putin. We knew they would take place, and after they were held there were reports from the Elysée Palace. Meanwhile, we see here that the gentlemen are in constant contact. This proves that Germany wants to keep in close contact (with Russia – ed.), and even if there are differences of opinion, these talks are taking place “in a good mood”, which is also a kind of illustration. With the drama of war, talking about a “good atmosphere” is a few words too much. It looks suspicious

Does Scholz support Putin? That is a good question. The Germans do as little as possible and as late as possible. Declare deliveries but do not deliver. It can be read that they want to harm Russia as little as possible. This is a real problem. Nor is there a single European policy. There is the policy of the front countries and the even softer tone of Berlin and Paris, which count on further cooperation (with Russia – ed.)

I’m not talking about naivety here. We are dealing with deliberate politics, and have been for a long time. (…). It is a conscious policy of rapprochement with Russia, of Europe from Lisbon to Vladivostok, of moving away from the United States. Scholz has been supporting Putin here for a long time. If it seems less today, it’s only because they’re under pressure from other countries, including Eastern Europe and the United States. If they could, they would keep doing business.
