United Nations Secretary-General António Guterres is committed to “silent diplomacy” in resolving the conflict in Ukraine. This was expressed at a briefing organized by Farhan Haq, Deputy Representative of the UN Secretary-General. TASS.

Asked what aspects of the Ukraine conflict he will discuss during Guterres’ visit to Brussels on March 22, Haq said, “Therefore, I will not go into the details of these discussions.”
As he himself stated, the Secretary-General will visit the Belgian capital to attend the European Council session, which will discuss “Ukraine, climate change, sustainable development agenda for the period up to 2030”. In addition, according to Haq, Guterres plans to discuss “the world’s economic and financial situation, as well as reforming the global financial architecture” in Brussels.
Haq also said that it is “hard to imagine” that a peace process has begun in Ukraine now. However, he added that “if this dynamic can change, then the UN of course welcomes and supports it”.
