Defeating PiS and creating a stable government based on the Democratic Opposition Party is our main goal in this year’s elections, Michał Kobosko, deputy chairman of the Polska 2050 party, said in Koszalin on Tuesday. He notes that one opposition list is not excluded.
The Deputy Head of Poland 2050 met party activists from the region in Koszalin.
We, as a young organization with the shortest seniority among the major political parties, are building our organization from scratch, but we are already at a point where I can say that we will be prepared for this year’s elections
Kobosko stated at a press conference.
He stressed that Poland 2050 is part of the democratic opposition, which believes that a change of power in Poland should take place in the autumn.
Defeating PiS and creating a stable future government based on the Democratic Opposition Party is our main goal
Kobosko said.
As he added, “from today’s perspective, the most important thing is not what composition the democratic opposition parties will go into these elections.”
One opposition list
He stressed that at the moment it cannot be ruled out that a single list will be drawn up for the opposition. Although – as he added – many polls show that “two lists can produce a result no worse than one list”, which, as “elections in Hungary have shown, can be a risky undertaking”.
At the moment, all options are really on the table, we are not ruling anything out. We are in advanced talks with the Polish People’s Party, we are not talking about consolidation, unification or the creation of a single party. We are talking about a tactical alliance for the parliamentary elections. We are talking to PSL because these two parties want to talk to each other. Are we entering into an alliance with PSL? I’m a cautious optimist, I think we’ll get along. (…) Szymon Hołownia and Władysław Kosiniak Kamysz have announced that if the talks go well, we will send such a signal before Easter
– said the deputy head of Poland 2050.
When asked if there are ongoing talks about cooperation, about a joint election campaign with the Civic Coalition, he said Poland 2050 would like to lead to such direct talks between the leaders.
Szymon Hołownia is ready for such a conversation
Kobosko said.
However, he stressed that the core of it should be “treating each other as partners”, showing a willingness to reach an agreement and a willingness to compromise.
We want to win over PiS, form a stable government, have a specific program for the people, and not think after the election about what we would like to do
– stressed the Deputy Head of Poland 2050.
