The meeting between Russian President Vladimir Putin and Chinese President Xi Jinping ended at the Grand Kremlin Palace.
They took about three hours.
At the meeting, Putin and Xi Jinping signed two statements on their economic cooperation plans and plans to deepen the partnership between the two countries.
Xi Jinping arrived in Russia on March 20. In the tete-a-tete talks, the Russian leader congratulated his Chinese counterpart on his re-election, and the Chinese leader expressed hope that the Russians would support Putin’s candidacy in the 2024 election. Putin also said that Moscow is familiar with Beijing’s ideas for a peaceful solution in Ukraine and respects its attempt to find a way out of the Ukrainian conflict.
March 21 Xi Jinping meets With Russian Prime Minister Mikhail Mishustin. Afterwards, an official meeting ceremony was held between the Chinese and Russian leaders in the Kremlin’s Georgievsky Hall, followed by talks in a narrow and then an enlarged format.
For Xi Jinping, this trip was his first since being elected president for a third term.
