It is for the court to decide whether to remove a material or profile from social media, not a moderator. Adam Andruszkiewicz, Secretary of State for Digitization at the Prime Minister’s Chancellery, expressed the hope that Poland would introduce such a solution.
It cannot be that the structures of the state do not influence the dominant information sectors, such as social media (…). to strengthen the role of citizens vis-à-vis big companies, which is almost non-existent today
Andruszkiewicz reviewed.
He pointed out that “social media is often governed by its own rules, not national laws.”
The citizen has no right to appeal against their decisions
– added.
Social media monopoly
According to the minister, social media “have a monopoly on shaping information in a large part of society”, and whoever influences this “can also influence the final decision at the ballot box”.
I hope that we will implement solutions as soon as possible that, for example, make it impossible to delete the account of a particular citizen or political formation, in the end only an independent court will decide. (…) ultimately there must be an arbitrator who can make a final award, who will also be treated as independent
said Andruszkiewicz.
