President of Kazakhstan Kassym-Jomart Tokayev received British Foreign Secretary James Cleverley, who is in Astana for an official visit. informs Press service of the leader of Kazakhstan.
During the meeting, the possibilities of further strengthening bilateral cooperation in the political, commercial, economic, investment and humanitarian fields were discussed.
Welcoming Cleverley, Tokayev noted that the British minister’s visit would “give a significant impetus to the further strengthening of mutual cooperation” between Kazakhstan and the UK.
The President also invited Prime Minister Rishi Sunak to visit Kazakhstan.
In turn, the head of the British Foreign Office drew attention to the positive dynamics of contacts between Astana and London. He said Kazakhstan is the UK’s main trading partner in the region and that the UK appreciates the country’s ongoing political and tax reforms.
