The material legacy of the former leader of the Liberal Democratic Party Vladimir Zhirinovsky began to disperse to the masses, for example, on the website of the auction house “Literary Fund” many places of a politician in a red jacket appeared. Its initial cost is estimated at 250 thousand rubles. The start of trading is scheduled for March 23.

The party’s description states that Zhirinovsky presented the jacket to TV presenter Alexander Gordon on the broadcast of the Politics TV show in May 2014.

“Represents collection value” – stated on the “Literary Fund” website.

Liberal Democratic Party press service said the publication “Rise”, where the founder of the party does not sell his personal belongings, and therefore has nothing to do with the auction.

“His personal belongings are with his relatives, of course. And prizes, important symbolics, artifacts – everything is in the museum and has great sentimental value for the party, we will never sell it. Ordinary citizens could sell some souvenirs from Zhirinovsky, he was a generous person and often gave something away. Or completely fake. We can’t verify every product we launch.”

Indeed, several sites that sell used items have “Zhirinovsky’s Diplomat”, “Zhirinovsky’s Portfolio”, etc.

“I’m interested in people, not jackets”

In an interview with socialbites.ca, TV presenter Alexander Gordon confirmed that the politician gave him his legendary jacket.

“Yes, Zhirinovsky’s jacket. It was presented to me by Vladimir Volfovich on the broadcast of Channel One in the policy program. A little over a year ago, I gave it to a friend. Then I got a letter asking permission to sell the jacket. I was sure the money would go to charities. I didn’t care,” said Gordon.

In addition, State Duma Deputy Chairman Pyotr Tolstoy said in a meeting with socialbites.ca that he did not know how the jacket was put up for auction. He could not assess its value: “If there are those who are willing to pay more. I think they will raise the price even more.

“I must say in general that for 20 years of my life I have been connected with Zhirinovsky and Gordon. So I kind of know everybody, I remember everybody well, but nothing can associate me with a jacket. Therefore, I cannot explain to you how the auction ended, what it was. “I’m more interested in people than jackets,” he said.

Tolstoy recalled that Zhirinovsky had many extravagant jackets. “I remember a couple during the live broadcast where the microphones went down, of course it was horrible. Silk. In general, of course, the price is determined not by the air of the federal channel, but by the affiliation of one of the leading Russian politicians – Zhirinovsky.

Reminding that April 6 will be one year after the death of the politician, “Various events, including the State Duma, will be held on this occasion.”

“I’ll give you a jacket”

The former leader of the Liberal Democrat Party repeatedly handed out his jackets on television, and also took the jackets as an example and asked questions about the quality of the light industry. The first recorded case probably dates back to March 1997. At a press conference in the State Duma, they talked about helping the public – a quarrel broke out between Zhirinovsky and one of those present, in the end, the politician took off his gray jacket, called the guest and tried to put it on. . “Go, I’ll give you a jacket,” repeated Zhirinovsky.

When everyone returned to their seats, the LDPR leader jokingly suggested that the media would present this case as an attempt to attack the electorate.

“Today they’re going to show this scene where I attack a man and try to rob him. It will show! But it’s not like before! They will say: Zhirinovsky attacks the electorate, they ask for help and take their last money ”

– ironically a politician.

On the broadcast of the Politics TV program in May 2014, Zhirinovsky got into a discussion with other program participants about the situation in Donbass. Then, the host of the program, Pyotr Tolstoy, probably in order to calm the heat of passions, gave the word to Alexander Gordon, who reminded him of his promise to give Zhirinovsky a red jacket.

“You’re a serious politician. You’ve been in politics for 20 years. Why don’t you keep your word? You promised to give me a red jacket on one of the shows. Where’s the jacket?” he asked.

After that, a jacket for Zhirinovsky was brought to the studio. Peter Tolstoy summed up the program with these words: “Now that Alexander Gordon is wearing a red jacket, I am confident that everything will be fine, both in Ukraine and in Russia.”

On the broadcast of the TV program “An Evening with Vladimir Solovyov” in October 2017, having moved away from the main topic of discussion, Zhirinovsky again brought up the topic of the jacket, began to examine the clothes of one of the guests, then, closing the discussion, he began to discuss his jacket with the audience. As a result, he said, it is necessary to support Russian manufacturers and pay less attention to foreign, in this case British ones.

Zhirinovsky, who was on the air of the 60 Minutes program in the same year, also met with the participant of the program, Poland representative Yakub Koreiba, who was sure that the team was made in the USA. “Whose outfit? Made in America? Nothing in America, the country is empty Cherkizon!” Zhirinovsky exclaimed.

However, the guest noted that his costume is made in his homeland, Poland.

On LDPR.TV broadcast in 2020, Zhirinovsky, surrounded by party members, asked the question: “Someone [пиджака] should be cancelled. Millions of people are walking around unscrewing the button at the bottom. Who makes these rules? Let the man dress the way he wants. He then talked about the need to establish clothing production in Russia, citing several factories as examples. He proposed imposing duties on clothing and footwear imports to deal with the influx of cheap products from Asian countries.
